Snapshot No. 700-704
704. The morning after a rain
The square in front of my place, this morning.
Yurinoki's leaves were all gone, and
its large and elongated seeds stand out at the top area.
In the middle, a
hiyo-dori.
An evergreen
kusu-no-ki.
703. Ichou
Ichou leaves have been turning color.
A shot at a nearby place this afternoon.
702. Chop off!
Kiku at my entrance.
This
kiku used to reach almost 1m high and to lie down and bloom.
This year, however, as in the photo, it has bloomed nicely with less than half the previous height.
The mechanism behind this is that I chopped off the stems reaching almost 80cm at rainy season to 10cm.
There is a field nearby where
kiku flowers beautifully bloom every year. There, during the walk with Jiro, I got an advice from the person who manages the field. I just followd it.
According to that person, in order to make it bloom low,
"Chop off the stems before July"
Awesome, a real expert.
701. A jellyfish floating in the air

Today's moon.
A shot before noon at the square in front of my place.
The cool blue sky over the last few days shows the faint moon approaching its last quarter.
700. "No overcast on the 13th-day night"
Tonight falls on the Sep. 13th night of the old calendar, called
kuri-meigetu or
mame-meigetu (chestnut or bean admirable-moon).
As in the old saying, weather is fine tonight, and the moon with a little bit chipped gracefully ascended. The photo was taken at a nearby vacant lot.

As it is the 13th day, the moon appears about 100 minutes before the sunset, when the sky is still bright.
As it coincided with the time of evening walk with Jiro, the ascending moon accompanied us all the way of the walk.
Under the recent climate conditions, traditional events related to seasons sometimes confuse us as they do not match the would-be seasonal feeling.
One of them is "the admirable-moon of mid-autumn". As the old August 15th is still in the summer condition these days, it is difficult for us to feel the atmosphere of "moon viewing". Particularly, at this area, the ears of
susuki grass (an ingredient of offerings to the moon) do not come out yet.
Compared with that, the moon about a month later, "the moon after", just fits the genuine "moon viewing" under cool climate.

The right is the offering placed from yesterday at the bay-window, also serving as a decoration. All were arranged by Mrs. XYL.
The offered on the
sanbou stand is 13 pieces of
dango.
